Why the Chicago Bulls Should Do It
This deal depends on the Chicago Bulls’ view of Zach LaVine. When a new regime enters, it’s common for the decision makers to put their own stamp on a roster.
LaVine could be a part of their vision in Chicago. But if he’s not, this is a good return centered around Kyle Kuzma from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kuzma gives the Bulls a player to build around, and also gives Chicago more flexibility. The Bulls could build around Kuzma alongside Lauri Markkanen, or they could test Markkanen’s trade value as well.
Kuzma would have an increased role in Chicago, as he’d have the chance to get out from Davis’s shadow in Los Angeles. Kuzma’s numbers took a hit last year with the addition of Davis, although Kuzma now has a title to show for it.
Green has played on numerous championship teams, and he’s one of the true battle-tested veterans in the league. He’d bring more than a decade of experience and sharp shooting to Chicago.
The two 1st rounders can’t be overlooked either. While they’re not lottery picks, it would give the Bulls two picks in the first 28 selections — Chicago holds No. 4 overall — as well as a first in two years.
Kuzma and the picks would add onto what Chicago is trying to build, if they’re comfortable enough to part with LaVine.
