Why It Works For The Philadelphia 76ers

It has been mentioned a few times but the contract of Tobias Harris is one of the worst in the league right now. Actually, the Philadelphia 76ers have two of them if you throw in Al Horford. There is a need for some changes in Philadelphia. Whether it is trading Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons or acquiring some younger options for Harris.

Both Dorian Finney-Smith and Delon Wright are players who could make an impact as strong role players. Both players were around 37% shooting from the three-point line last season— an attribute needed by the 76ers to surround their stars.

The 76ers have a great need from beyond the arc but this deal also lands them a couple more draft picks. The 76ersers currently hold the 21st pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and would have more than enough assets to move up, if they wanted to do so.

Daryl Morey is now in the front office and Doc Rivers is on the sideline. Getting swept in the first round of the playoffs is not something that will be accepted. The process failed. It is time to make some changes and this could be one.
