Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: No. 14 Pick, No. 19 Pick, No. 26 Pick

Boston Celtics Receive: No. 5 Pick

With such a substantial accumulation of recent draft choices, the Boston Celtics absolutely do not need to be adding three prospects from the 1st round in a weak draft class to their roster.

There is a potential option for the Celtics to consolidate their 1st round picks by putting them in a trade package to move up significantly in the NBA Draft order. A team like the Cleveland Cavaliers, who sit with the No. 5 pick, could be a potential suitor.

It would be fascinating to see the Celtics get into a position in the NBA Draft necessary to select a prospect like Onyeka Okongwu to solidify the center position. Having a big man that can switch on defense similar to Bam Adebayo would go a long way.

It probably wouldn’t be necessary for the Celtics to have to trade up all the way to the No. 5 spot to be in position to take Okongwu. However, if they see a prospect they are enamored with, jumping all the way to that spot could help ensure landing that talent.

As for the Cavaliers, having three chances to hit on a draft choices to better build around Collin Sexton and Darius Garland would be a reasonable option. There are plenty of role players that could be had within the teens of the draft order for Cleveland to take.
