The Memphis Grizzlies have entered a new era with Ja Morant as the face of the franchise. The 2019-20 Rookie of the Year dazzled all year long, with his high-flying dunks and awing athleticism. But for Memphis to reach the next level, do they need to acquire a player such as Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine?

We know what Morant is capable of, and the scary part for the rest of the league is Morant is only going to continue to improve.

Memphis finished with 34 wins, good for 9th in West, which is another way of saying they were the first team eliminated from the playoffs after a spirited run in the bubble.

It’s clear that Memphis has a bright future led by Morant, but how can the Grizzlies improve the pieces around him? One way would be to acquire another guard who would concern opposing defenses such as LaVine.

In his sixth season, LaVine averaged a career-high 25.5 points in 34.8 minutes per game.
