Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers are coming off of a sweep in the first round of the NBA playoffs. “The Process” has been a complete failure to this point and it is time that the team makes some changes.
Philadelphia currently has two of the worst contracts in the league with Al Horford and Tobias Harris. Since being swept, the 76ers have hired Daryl Morey to run basketball operations. They also let of head coach Brett Brown and hired Doc Rivers to the same position.
Changes have already begun in the front office and now it is time to continue them on the court.
Joel Embiid and Simmons are the backbone of the 76ers. That bone is beginning to break, so it might benefit Philadelphia to trade one and get back the massive haul. It is a flip of the coin if they decide to make a trade.
Simmons signed a five-year, $170 million max deal with the Sixers. There could be some teams after him this offseason.
The 76ers have to do something. They enter each season with expectations and continue to fail. If the offer is enough, Simmons could be on the move.
