5 teams who must pursue a trade for DeMar DeRozan this offseason

4. Orlando Magic

The Magic have an opportunity to use expiring contracts here as well. Evan Fournier and Khem Birch would equal about $20 million, which would help tremendously in salary matching for DeMar DeRozan.

The question is, will the Magic look to tank?

If Orlando is serious about moving up in the standings, they could make a move for DeRozan. The problem is that they are coming off of a season where they were the eighth seed, so they could look to be down for a year or two and gain draft capital.

That should not be the option. Team president Jeff Weltman came from the Toronto Raptors and had a hand in building their roster around DeRozan.

Jonathan Isaac suffered a torn ACL in the bubble and will miss next season. That is a huge blow to the team, but that does not mean they should just completely throw away the 2020-2021 campaign. Trading for DeRozan would be a great step in the right direction.
