5. Detroit Pistons

There is apparently a rumor of DeMar DeRozan being unhappy with the Spurs. If this is true, there is a chance for him to reunite with some familiar faces, both on the court and on the sideline.

The Pistons are a team that could make a run at DeRozan. They have the cap space to take on DeRozan with ease. He would reunite with his former head coach in Toronto, Dwane Casey.

Detroit could pair Blake Griffin and DeRozan in an effort to compete in the East. If that is not enough, Detroit could also make a run at Fred VanVleet, DeRozan’s former teammate. This would need some doing. The Pistons would have to send away some expiring contracts such as Derrick Rose and Tony Snell.

These reunions should make DeRozan happy. If there is a good feeling and familiarity in Detroit, it will make the team run smoothly.
