3. Clint Capela, Trade

This is a name that we have seen linked the the Celtics before.

At this year’s trade deadline, the Celtics were in talks with the Houston Rockets, but they ended up pulling their name out of talks. One year later, we could see it happen after all.

Boston could see themselves as a big man away from a championship. Capela would fit in well. The Celtics have plenty of options that can score the basketball. Capela is not a huge offensive threat, but he is an elite defender and rebounder.

On the other end, the Atlanta Hawks are not in love with Capela’s contract. Sending him to Boston would make it easier for John Collins to play an increased role on both ends.

Ultimately, the Celtics could look to the NBA Draft for an upgrade at center if there is one. If they want to explore trades, this could be a fit for both parties.
