3 trade packages to send Kings’ Buddy Hield to the Knicks

Package: Frank Ntilikina, 2020 first-round pick

We begin with one of the worst draft picks in recent memory. Phil Jackson gave the Knicks one last gift on his way out the door when he drafted Frank Ntilikina with the No. 8 overall pick in 2017. He was taken five picks before Donovan Mitchell and six before Bam Adebayo.

Ntilikina has to be on his way out. He has built a reputation as a strong defender, but has not improved in any way on the offensive end. He is a poor shooter, mediocre passer, and is not reliable with the ball in his hands.

Ntilikina is a no-brainer in this package, but it gets dicey with the draft selection. The Knicks currently hold the No. 8 pick in this draft. There have been talks that the team would be interested in trading it if LaMelo Ball or James Wiseman do not fall to them.

If they decide to make a move, the Kings would jump on it. This is a top 10 selection in exchange for a disgruntled player that was not a huge part of the game plan anyway.

Buddy Hield for this package would be a major win for the Knicks and the Kings would always love to add another high pick.
