Aleksej Pokusevski, F/C, Greece
Perhaps one of the most unique prospects in this year’s NBA Draft class is Aleksej Pokusevski. That can be both a great thing for teams that are intrigued by his skill-set but can turn away others.
If there’s any prospect that has ‘unicorn’ potential in the 2020 NBA Draft, it would be Pokusevski. He stands at 7-feet and possesses a 7-foot-3 wingspan, a legitimate playmaking ability, and can shoot the basketball. He has a major need to add weight (195 pounds) to his frame.
A league source told NBA Analysis Network that Pokusevski is the most difficult player in this class to project in terms of draft placement. There are some teams in the late teens who could take a chance on his intriguing potential so the 16-19 range is one to watch.
It may be a while before Pokusevski sees the court for whichever team takes a chance on him. He has to refine his skill-set in the fundamentals of the game but has a clearly impressive upside if he can get the basics to come together.
