This Lakers-Trail Blazers trade would pair Damian Lillard with LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers brought Anthony Davis to town to pair with LeBron James. That got them a championship after the NBA restart and will have them as favorites heading into next season. Could they possibly look for another superstar like Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard?

Lillard is a player who has seen his name thrown around in trade rumors for years now. The Trail Blazers signed their point guard to a massive four-year, $196 million contract extension. He is under contract in Portland until after the 2024-2025 season. Portland has been a competitive team, but Lillard has never had the supporting cast to try and win a championship.

Many believe that Lillard is being wasted with the Blazers. That would not be the case with the Lakers. They would create a big three like one we have never seen before if a trade was ever made. The Lakers would have to give up a lot and their assets might not be enough, but it would not hurt to try.

Both sides have shut down the rumors in the past but they have not gone away. If the Lakers choose to pursue a trade for Lillard, it could look a little like this.
