Pelicans acquire Paul George

Clippers acquire Brandon Ingram*, Josh Hart, 2020 first-round pick

From a player standpoint, this could be the most intriguing offer the Pelicans could make the Clippers.

Note the asterisk on Brandon Ingram, the 23-year-old is a restricted free agent this offseason. He could be part of a sign-and-trade if he doesn’t return to New Orleans.

In this last hypothetical, the Pels send two former Lakers to the Clippers, as both Ingram and Josh Hart hypothetically head to Los Angeles.

Ingram’s ceiling is stardom, and he’d be an intriguing fit on the Clippers. Hart has improved in each of his three seasons, the first two with the Lakers, and 2019-20 with the Pelicans. He needs continued development, but the 25 year-old can flourish in the right situation.

It’s worth noting that both of these players also already know what it’s like to play in Los Angeles. There are a few markets in the NBA where the experience is just different than everywhere else, and Los Angeles is one such place.
