NBA Mock Draft: Picks 16-20
16. Portland Trail Blazers — Robert Woodard II, F, Mississippi State
It’s not easy to find wings that can shoot the ball and make an impact on defense. The Trail Blazers will be in prime position to add a talent that fits such a description and a Robert Woodard is a great option. He stands at 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan while weighing in at 230 pounds.
17. Minnesota Timberwolves — Patrick Williams, F, Florida State
It has been a difficult process for the Timberwolves to find a frontcourt partner for Karl-Anthony Towns and if Patrick Williams is available, he could be the answer. The Timberwolves would have two pick-and-pop threats while adding a versatile defender for the four spot.
18. Dallas Mavericks — RJ Hampton, G, USA
The Mavericks have their two stars to build around with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. The No. 18 pick won’t net a third star but they can add a helpful role player. A prospect like RJ Hampton would bring intriguing athleticism and has improved his shooting mechanics.
19. Brooklyn Nets — Jaden McDaniels, F, Washington
The Nets have no shortage of reliable perimeter contributors with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving returning to the lineup. Using the No. 19 pick to add an athletic frontcourt option that can develop behind Durant would be a fascinating option to consider.
20. Miami Heat — Tyler Bey, F, Colorado
The Heat could benefit substantially from finding a diamond in the rough that can fill a ‘3-and-D’ role. An option like Tyler Bey would be fascinating but it’s important to take his low 3P volume into consideration before weighing his shooting ability too much.
