Why the Bucks Should Do It
Walker dealt with a knee injury last season, which limited his availabilty in his first season in Boston. But if he’s healthy, Walker could be an ideal addition for Milwaukee.
The Bucks need to continue to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo while they have the chance. If Milwaukee improves next season, perhaps it could erase even the slightest chance that Antetokounmpo goes elsewhere as a free agent in 2021.
Let’s not forget, it was just last offseason that Walker was viewed as an excellent signing by Boston. Walker is a four-time All Star, including an All Star appearance last season before the season was suspended.
When he’s healthy, Walker could give the Bucks anywhere from 20 to 25 points per night, with an eFG% around the 50% mark.
It may be difficult for Milwaukee to part with Middleton, but the risk of losing Giannis Antetokounmpo will loom large until or unless he signs an extension.
Walker is under contract through 2021-22, and he holds a player option for the 2022-23 season.
