The Lakers may not offer Danilo Gallinari the type of sala’0ry he could get elsewhere, but he’d absolutely have a chance to compete for a title.

Part of Gallinari’s decision could come down to whether he wants to maximize his payday, or maximize his chance to win — often times, players don’t get to have both.

Gallinari in a lineup with LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be extremely compelling.

And, at 32, it would be hard to fault Gallinari if he chooses roster make up and a chance at a title over a higher salary.

James has a long history of recruiting players to join in his vision, and if the Lakers can find a way to sign Gallinari, he’d be able to compete for a title immediately.
