The Houston Rockets came up short in the playoffs last season, and it led to huge changes.

Both Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni have departed the organization, and D’Antoni’s departure in particular could lead to stylistic changes.

But regardless of scheme or philosophy, the Rockets could use a player such as Gallinari as they aim for another run in the Western Conference.

Houston’s roster isn’t perfect, but it may be too soon to blow up the core and get rid of James Harden and Russell Westbrook. If that’s the case, the Rockets need to continue to build around their backcourt while it’s still intact.
