Golden State Warriors
The Warriors’ acquisition of Andrew Wiggins has felt like a questionable fit at best. In order to acquire Gordon Hayward or another player in his salary range, the Warriors would have to move Wiggins.
Might a deal centered around Hayward for Wiggins — possibly with some peripheral pieces also changing hands — make sense?
Hayward would fit nicely with all of the Warriors’ perimeter shooting, but at the same time, he’d be yet another shuffled piece in the aftermath of the Kevin Durant era.
There’s no easy way to lose a superstar, and the Warriors have bounced from D’Angelo Russell to Andrew Wiggins since Durant chose Brooklyn in July, 2019.
Hayward has an injury-history, but the fit could be intriguing in Golden State.
