Whenever Victor Oladipo is mentioned in rumors on social media, the Celtics seem to be nearby.
If the Pacers are going to acquire Hayward, Boston’s would likely prefer Oladipo as the return. Oladipo is Indiana’s best player, and the best return Boston could seek from the Pacers.
That being said, it remains to be seen if the Pacers would give up Oladipo for Hayward. To convince the Pacers, Boston would probably have to include draft assets.
In this final hypothetical, the Celtics include two of their three first round picks. Neither is a premium pick, but as mentioned, for an Indiana team without a first round pick, two firsts in a package for Oladipo may be intriguing.
If the Pacers make Oladipo available, Indiana would likely have multiple offers to sift through. But if the Pacers are intent on acquiring Hayward specifically, this could be one way to so do.
