Los Angeles Clippers Upgrade At Guard With Derrick Rose
A team that looks high-powered on paper can run into problems when it reaches the playoffs. That’s why it’s so difficult for any NBA team that formulates in the offseason to immediately step in and win a championship.
For the Los Angeles Clippers, pairing up Kawhi Leonard and Paul George was the right move. Had the NBA not needed to go into the bubble, it’s hard to say the Clippers wouldn’t have at least fared better. Many of their key players weren’t keen on even being there.
Exhausted of first-round picks, the Clippers will need to get creative with how they go about adding helpful contributors in the offseason. Just because it could be a difficult task to undertake doesn’t make it an impossible one to achieve.
When looking beyond the off-court concerns that clearly impacted the Clippers, there was a clear limitation in the personnel’s capabilities in the dribble penetration department. Pursuing an explosive guard like Derrick Rose would be a viable option.
The Clippers wouldn’t have to dedicate a considerable amount of salary cap spending to bring in Rose and the Detroit Pistons could look to move him to a contender this offseason.
