Brooklyn Nets Form A “Big 3” With Jrue Holiday
There may not be a more highly anticipated team in the NBA ahead of next season than the Brooklyn Nets. Not only will two of the games elite scorers in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving be returning to the hardwood, but they’ll also be doing it together.
The Nets won’t be needing much help in the scoring department with Durant and Irving setting the tone in that area. However, a team needs a balance in key areas— meaning defense still needs to be a priority.
Adding an elite on-ball defender in Jrue Holiday would be an ideal way to help the Nets achieve results on defense. He could embrace taking on the toughest individual assignment— giving Irving greater capacity to focus on the other end of the floor.
There is some intriguing potential for Holiday to serve as a facilitator and third scoring option for the Nets, too. He wouldn’t be needed to provide as much impact in these areas as he does in New Orleans, but it would be quite helpful, nevertheless.
