Rationale For The Minnesota Timberwolves
There isn’t a clear-cut prospect that sticks out as being better than the rest in this year’s NBA Draft class. Moving down in the order would be an intriguing possibility for the Minnesota Timberwolves if it can net them an additional asset.
After moving down to the No. 3 spot, the Timberwolves still would get to select one of Anthony Edwards, Deni Avdija, LaMelo Ball, or Tyrese Haliburton. Any of those prospects would be helpful additions.
There is a risk for the Timberwolves to move down a couple of spots for this particular trade package— mostly when considering there is uncertainty regarding how the Hornets may finish a few years from now.
Having the pick convey in the 2022 NBA Draft would be an intriguing possibility for the Timberwolves when considering that class is supposed to be loaded with talent. However, it would be outside of the lottery if that were to occur. If not, it would convey in a future class.
