The Miami Heat will be among the teams keeping extremely close tabs on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situation with the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason. Antetokounmpo can be a free agent in 2021, but the Heat could add him a year early if they could pull off a trade.

Antetokounmpo, the 2020 MVP, is set to remain with the Bucks through this offseason barring a trade as the Bucks try to convince him to stay.

But if Milwaukee were to entertain a trade, the Heat have multiple options they could offer, which could give Miami an advantage over other teams in negotiations.

The Heat could easily try to wait for Antetokounmpo to reach free agency, but Miami would run the risk of Antetokounmpo signing with the Bucks longterm before 2021.
