5 teams who should pursue the Warriors’ No. 2 overall pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers may not have a superstar to offer for the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft, so this could put Cleveland at a disadvantage compared to other teams.

But what Cleveland can offer, is a drop down the board of just three spots, to No. 5 overall, plus at least a first round pick in 2021.

This would not be the kind of offer that would satiate the Warriors’ desire for another star. Instead, it’s the kind of offer a rebuilding team might accept; turn one first pick into multiple future first round picks.

However, if the Warriors have their eyes set on just one player, and that player comes off the board at No. 1 overall, perhaps this is something to consider if a trade offer including a star doesn’t materialize.

The Warriors are within striking range of the top three prospects, LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. If another team wants to move up to that slot without offering a star, it would likely require an overpay in the way of future first rounders.
