This Celtics-Cavaliers trade would send Andre Drummond to Boston

As the Boston Celtics prepare their list of offseason needs, an upgrade at center should be a high priority. The Celtics’ core is built around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but they could use more size in the front court. Could Boston be a fit for Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond?

Drummond has a player option for 2020-21, and he’s been clear in the past that he will exercise the option, worth around $28 million.

The Cavaliers could look to move Drummond if he ultimately opts-in to what would be the final year of his contract.

Drummond, at 6’11”, would be an immediate size upgrade over Daniel Theis (6’8″) and, although he’s been in the league since 2012, Drummond is just 27.

Let’s take a look at a deal that would send Drummond from Cleveland to Boston after he opts-in to the final year of his contract.
