Why The Philadelphia 76ers Should Do It
The Philadelphia 76ers need to perform better under pressure next season, and Rose is a relatively cheap option as Philly aims to bounce back.
By adding Rose, Rivers would immediately have a veteran point guard whom he can count on in crunch time.
Rose averaged 18.1 points and 5.6 assists in 26 minutes per game last season. It was his second consecutive season in which he averaged 18 points.
Rose is also versatile enough to pair up with Embiid and Simmons in the starting lineup, but he has experience coming off the bench the past two seasons as well.
The 76ers are facing a pivotal offseason, in which there have been trade rumors about both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. By adding Rose and holding on to Simmons and Embiid, the 76ers would signal that they’re ready to make another run in the Eastern Conference.
