San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan has a pending player option for the final year of his contract for 2020-21. If DeRozan exercises the option, the Spurs could look to trade the veteran guard. If the Spurs look to move on from DeRozan, there are multiple teams who should be a fit and the Miami Heat could be one of them.

The Heat will have big plans both this offseason and in the 2021 offseason, and Miami could be a landing spot for DeRozan, should he become available.

From Miami’s perspective, it’s actually better if DeRozan opts-in to his contract, thereby allowing the Spurs to trade him, but we’ll discuss that in the coming slides.
