The Milwaukee Bucks are heading into what could be a very intriguing offseason. As stress levels raise surrounding keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo long-term, the Bucks know that they need to make some moves. Bogdan Bogdanovic could be a name to keep a close eye on.
According to a report from The Athletic, the Bucks are expected to have “strong interest” in pursuing Bogdanovic this offseason.
An expected strong suitor for Kings restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic: The Milwaukee Bucks, sources said. Milwaukee will pursue additional playmaking and shooting this offseason to bolster the roster around their two-time MVP, Antetokounmpo, and All-Star Khris Middleton.
Bogdanovic would be a very solid addition for the Bucks. He may not be a “star” to place alongside Antetokounmpo, but Milwaukee doesn’t necessarily need another star. Khris Middle is the second star alongside the “Greek Freak.”
During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Sacramento Kings, Bogdanovic ended up averaging 15.1 points per game to go along with 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He shot 44 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 37.2 percent from the three-point line.
At 28 years old, Bogdanovic is in his prime and playing for a legitimate NBA Finals contender would be a nice change of pace for him. He can shoot the ball, space the floor, and can also create his own looks. The Bucks don’t need a 20 points per game scorer, but guys who can knock down shots will be crucial.
Only time will tell if the Bucks can get something done with Bogdanovic. He is a restricted free agent, which gives the Kings the right to match any offer sheet he signs. That could force the Bucks to figure out a sign-and-trade with the Kings.
No matter what route they choose to go, obtaining Bogdanovic is a more than reasonable goal for the Bucks. Milwaukee has also been linked to star point guard Chris Paul quite often since their season ended.
Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Bucks this offseason. Bogdan Bogdanovic is one name to keep a close eye on.
