Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards

Bradley Beal at this point is not believed to be available. But if Washington takes calls on him, several teams would inquire.

The Knicks should be one of those teams.

New York certainly has the assets to make a competitive offer for Beal, but it remains to be seen how much the Knicks would be willing to give up.

If it required Barrett going to Washington — and it likely would — the Knicks would have to decide if they’re willing to part with the 20 year-old guard. Barrett has a bright future, but Beal, at 27, is in his prime now.

Beal is under contract for one more season, worth $28.7 million, before his two year extension kicks in after the 2021 season. In all, Beal can be under team control through 2023, as he has a player option for the 2022-23 season.
