After being rewarded with a hefty contract last time around in free agency, chasing his first title could be Gordon Dragic’s main motivation on the open market.

If Dragic feels he is the missing piece for the Los Angeles Clippers, perhaps he could sign a minimum contract for Hollywood’s other team. Dragic could challenge Patrick Beverley for the starting job, assuming the Clippers would be willing to forfeit some defense in favor of a much better offensive threat.

It’s a longshot because Dragic may feel the East champion Heat has a better chance to win the title next season. After all, the Clippers bowed out in the second round this past postseason and clearly had plenty of chemistry issues.

On the other hand, the Clippers have more than enough talent to win a championship. Plus, the appeal of playing alongside Kawhi Leonard could be plenty enticing for Dragic.
