Los Angeles Lakers
In need of point guard help, the NBA champion Lakers could reach out to Goran Dragic. LeBron James served as the point forward in the starting five. Outside of that, the main ball handlers were backup guards Rajon Rondo and Alex Caruso.
Following a superb postseason, Rondo reportedly plans to opt-out of his contract and pursue free agency.
Rondo played on a veteran minimum-salary contract this season and has no plans to do the same next year. The Lakers could be outbid by another squad impressed by Rondo’s strong postseason, which included per-game marks of 8.9 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in 24.3 minutes as a reserve.
Rondo’s departure could open up the door for Dragic to join Los Angeles. Dragic could play his way into the starting lineup, or serve as the Lakers’ sixth (or seventh) man.
