LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs are embarking on an offseason that began without a trip to the playoffs for the first time in 22 years.
San Antonio needs to get younger in the coming seasons, and a few pieces of its current roster may not fit into that vision for the future.
One player the Spurs could look to trade is Aldridge, who, at 35, would be a better fit on a team set to contend next season.
Jabari Young of CNBC reported back in August that the Spurs shopped Aldridge at the trade deadline last season, and could do so again this offseason.
However, the Spurs will need to lower their asking price for Aldridge, as Young reported San Antonio’s high asking price “overplayed their hand” in negotiations.
