Miami Heat

Being the closest team to win the NBA title but not actually come away with the honor puts the Miami Heat in a position to bolster its roster. With another key piece, they could be in a real position to contend.

The floor-spacing ability that Blake Griffin brings to the table with his improved perimeter shooting should appeal to the Heat. Paired with Bam Adebayo, Miami would have a frontcourt duo with legitimate playmaking ability, post-up impact to bully switches, and play finishing.

There is a real focus for the Heat to make a run at star talent in the free agency of 2021. Griffin will have a hefty player option that if he were to pick up, would force Miami to move him. At that point, he’d have an expiring deal so it wouldn’t be an impossible feat.

At the very least, the Heat would be able to be even more competitive with Griffin for the upcoming season with a contingency in the event they were unable to land Giannis Antetokounmpo.
