Warriors Trade Down

The Golden State Warriors don’t seem like a great fit at No. 2, whether the pick would be Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball or James Wiseman.

A trade of the No. 2 pick would certainly impact the rest of the NBA Draft, and beyond.

The question becomes, how far is Golden State willing to trade down? If their floor is the top five, perhaps a team like Cleveland or Chicago would entertain moving up.

But if the Warriors are willing to fall further down the draft board, a trade with the Knicks makes sense. The Knicks were the focal point of scenario No. 6, but this would be another option for New York, if the hypothetical Oladipo trade didn’t come to fruition.

New York holds picks No. 8 and No. 27, and both could be used to entice the Warriors to move down from No. 2. New York likely covets LaMelo Ball, so this could be the most plausible scenario if Anthony Edwards goes No. 1 overall.
