Pelicans Jump Up Into Top 10
New Orleans is in the midst of a critical offseason, in which the Pelicans need a new head coach and a plan for a playoff run.
Much like the Celtics in scenario No. 7, this trade would hinge on New Orleans’ belief that a prospect in the top 10 would mesh well with their core and help them reach the next level.
There is a great deal of pressure on the Pelicans and Zion Williamson entering next season.
It would make sense if the Pelicans feel a sense of urgency that leads them to try to trade up in the draft if they believe a prospect they covet will not fall to No. 13.
