The team most connected to Dennis Smith Jr. is the Orlando Magic, and if he’s going to get traded, perhaps the Magic circle back to this possibility.

The Magic reportedly were interested in Smith Jr. prior to the 2020 trade deadline (and prior to the season being suspended).

The Magic have some recent history of taking on a reclamation project, in former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz.

Smith Jr.’s stock is down, as Fultz’s was when the Magic took a chance on him.

If Smith Jr. will be on the move this offseason, the Magic may make the most sense as a landing spot.
