The Nuggets make this list because it would be a low-risk move for Denver, which would also fit financially.

Denver won’t have many options this offseason, as Jamal Murray’s five-year, $170 million contract kicks in.

Dennis Smith Jr. in comparison, will make $5.6 million next season.

He could come in and learn from Murray, who has established himself as a star after an outstanding performance in the NBA bubble.

Denver, like Detroit, would also give Smith a smaller market without so much constant media attention.

Smith Jr. could re-establish himself in Denver, a team which wouldn’t need him to come in and be the No. 1 option. He could find a role in Denver’s system while letting Murray and Nikola Jokic lead the way.
