One caveat to any Drummond trade, whether he’s dealt to the Clippers or elsewhere: Drummond has a player option for the 2020-21 season, worth $28 million.

Drummond acknowledged back in June that he “definitely” would exercise his player option.

“Yeah, it’s going to be hard to give up,” Drummond said of his $28 million salary for next season.
