4. Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are a team that looks ready to embark on a rebuild. They have a few young players who’ve developed nicely, but Detroit isn’t in a position to contend as of now.

When looking at Detroit’s roster, the Pistons have a few players who do not fit their timeline for contention: Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose.

The Pistons could shake things up this offseason by moving some of their veterans and retooling the roster. The biggest issue with this is Griffin’s contract, which likely will not be easy to move.

Detroit needs to build around its young core and continue to accumulate assets for the future. It may not be easy to move Griffin’s contract, but by the time Detroit is ready to contend, Griffin likely won’t be a factor anymore.
