The Miami Heat will have other orders of business to discuss before a conversation about DeMar DeRozan arises. Miami should first be focused on Victor Oladipo, and, if the chance comes up, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

But DeRozan would be an intriguing fall-back option if some of Miami’s top targets prove elusive.

DeRozan would provide Jimmy Butler and the Heat with another veteran scorer who has playoff experience.

The biggest question surrounding DeRozan’s fit in Miami is he and Butler both prefer the ball in their hands.

Butler has said in the past that he doesn’t care whether he scores two points or 40 points, but he’d need to have a willingness to defer to DeRozan at times if this pairing would work.
