Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Derrick Rose
Detroit Pistons Receive: Kyle Kuzma, Quinn Cook
With the presence of Anthony Davis, Kyle Kuzma’s value has taken a hit. That’s not a knock on Kuzma — but he simply isn’t as valuable on a team with Davis.
Since acquiring Davis, Kuzma’s numbers across the board have dropped. He had career lows in points per game, rebounds per game, effective field goal percentage and minutes per game during the regular season.
Kuzma should still have a bright future at just 25 years old, but in this trade the Lakers part with the 2017 first round pick.
Kuzma and Cook give the Pistons young depth in the front court and back court, respectively. This would be an ideal scenario for the Pistons, and it would give Kuzma a fresh start out of Davis’s shadow.
