Orlando Magic

The Magic are in an interesting spot. Orlando is going to try to contend next season, after making the NBA Bubble playoffs as the 8th seed.

The Magic have a mix of veterans and young players who’ve showed potential. But they simply weren’t good enough to advance in the playoffs, and if they want to contend, they’ll need to tweak the roster.

In Chris Paul, the Magic would get a leader who could bring some of their young guys together, and a mentor for the likes of Aaron Gordon and Markelle Fultz.

Paul’s fit in Orlando would be similar to his fit in Oklahoma City this past season. There were questions early on in the process about whether he’d like to play there.

Remember all of the talk about a buyout of Paul’s contract?

Paul made it work in Oklahoma City as best as possible, and he’d likely do the same in his next destination.
