Why The Knicks Should Do It

New York has continually struck out in free agency. We’ve all seen pictures online of stars photoshopped into Knicks’ jerseys, only for that player to go to a team other than the Knicks.

Trading a prized asset in Barrett to ensure the Knicks get George would give New York its biggest star since Carmelo Anthony.

While George absolutely struggled in the playoffs, including Game 7 against Denver, he would have every chance to be productive in New York under new head coach Tom Thibodeau.

This trade would see the Knicks give up on Barrett after just 56 career games, an extremely small sample size in the grand scheme of an NBA career. But the Clippers would have to be enticed to trade George, and Barrett has the kind of value that could get a deal done.
