As the Detroit Pistons embark on a full rebuild, it’s worth examining the fit for Derrick Rose and the organization.

Rose is 32 years old, and while he’s no longer the player he was before injuries took hold of him, Rose has had a career resurgence.

Rose can still help a contending team as a key piece coming off the bench, and the Pistons could recoup a bit of value in return as they continue to look toward the future.

All things considered, Rose has put together two consistent seasons for the first time since 2016-17. Rose averaged 18.1 points per game this season, and played in 50 games. In 2018-19, he also averaged 18 points per game, and played in 51 games.

His games played and points per game were by far his highest since 2016-17, when he was with the Knicks.
