Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat are not done in the NBA Finals, after a huge win in Game 3. The outcome is still to be determined, but Miami will have cap space to improve its roster next season regardless. Could the Heat and Pistons come to terms on a Blake Griffin trade?

The trade would put Griffin in a win-now situation in Miami, where he’d have a chance to compete for a title. In Detroit, the Pistons are firmly entrenched in a rebuild.

It’s not that Griffin’s veteran status serves no purpose on a rebuilding roster. Griffin has ample experience which can always help young players. But Detroit could get younger by moving Griffin.
