NBA Trade Candidate No. 3 — Victor Oladipo, Indiana Pacers
Victor Oladipo’s name has come up so frequently in reports and rumors, that at this point it would almost be a surprise if he remained with the Pacers.
Oladipo has had an unfortunate injury history, but he’s proven to be a star when he’s healthy.
If the Pacers make him available, they’d likely be able to conduct a bidding war for his services. Oladipo is not the type of player an organization wants to part with. But if Oladipo makes it clear he wants to play elsewhere, the Pacers could retool by maximizing the return via trade.
Oladipo has just one year remaining on his contract, when he’s set to make $21 million. He can be an unrestricted free agent after the 2021 season, so it would benefit Indiana to move him now. If the Pacers trade him this offseason instead of at the 2021 trade deadline, the team acquiring Oladipo would have a full season of his services, rather than a few months.
