This Bucks-Rockets trade would pair Russell Westbrook with Giannis Antetokounmpo

Just as Kevin Durant held the keys to the NBA’s offseason in 2019, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is in a similar position in 2020. Antetokounmpo is not a free agent as Durant was, but in theory he could force his way out of Milwaukee in a trade. The other side of this conversation, though, is Antetokounmpo could put pressure on the Bucks to bring him a proper running mate like Rockets’ star Russell Westbrook if he is going to stay.

It’s fun to think about Antetokounmpo on the Heat, or the Warriors, or the Clippers, but what about the Bucks making an all-in move to appease their MVP?

Antetokounmpo could look to a player who has played with plenty of stars throughout his career, who very well might need a change of scenery.

He could look to Houston, where Russell Westbrook and James Harden have tried to rekindle their magic from their time together in Oklahoma City.

The Rockets, much like the Bucks, succumbed to a disappointing end to their 2020 playoff run.

If Giannis wants an electrifying point guard who can help him carry some of the load in Milwaukee, here’s a trade that would bring Westbrook to the Eastern Conference for the first time in his career.
