3. Golden State Warriors
The Warriors face an interesting set of circumstances this offseason. Both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will be back in the lineup at the start of next season. Golden State will surely look to bounce back from a disappointing season in hopes of contending.
There is value in the Warriors adding a big man that can stretch the floor and provide a rim protection presence. It would help to bring the best out of Draymond Green’s short-roll playmaking while fully unleashing his defensive versatility on the other end.
Something to consider, the Pacers had one of the NBA’s top defenses in 2018-19 when Turner was paired up with the versatile Thaddeus Young — despite having a perimeter of underwhelming defenders. Now, imagine what a Green-Turner frontcourt could achieve?
The center position for the Warriors has typically featured a serviceable, low-cost option that doesn’t have much of a dynamic element to their game. Myles Turner would provide that in rim protection while also having upside that he has yet to tap into on offense playing in a modern attack.
