5 teams who should pursue a trade with the Pacers for Myles Turner

The Indiana Pacers will be headed for a difficult offseason with no shortage of major decisions to be made. Will they get a contract extension worked out with Victor Oladipo? Or will they have to trade the two-time All-Star? Could Myles Turner be another trade option?

Putting the Oladipo situation aside, there has been no shortage of speculation regarding the Pacers’ center position. Domantas Sabonis managed to earn an All-Star nod and has been the fulcrum of the team’s offense. Meanwhile, Turner has been the centerpiece of the defense.

It seems the Pacers’ decision for their head coaching vacancy could play a real role in their personnel decisions this offseason. Both Sabonis and Turner have contrasting styles and depending on preference, a case could be made to move either one.

The focus of Turner’s role with the Pacers has essentially been to anchor the defense with his rim protection and versatility while setting screens and spacing the floor. His offensive skill-set features a catch-and-shoot ability in addition to being able to get to the rim from out in space.

There has rarely been much opportunity for Turner to build on the role he’s had since entering the NBA. Being a fourth option on a team that lacks much for facilitation talent is not a role that brings the best out of a player. He would benefit substantially from a change of scenery on the right team.

With that being said, let’s take a look at five teams who should make a trade for Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner during the NBA offseason.
