While there aren’t a ton of high-profile names set to hit NBA free agency this offseason, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Danilo Gallinari is one of them. Quite a few teams will be interested in bringing him in, but it appears that the Miami Heat may very well be his best potential landing spot.

Bleacher Report listed the Heat as the top potential landing spot for Gallinari this offseason in free agency. They gave a reason for why they have the Heat listed as the best fit for him as well.

Miami could use more shot-creation, and while Gallinari isn’t elite in that department, he can wreck matchups with smaller wings or slower bigs. His sizzling three-point stroke (42.1 percent since the start of last season) would offer yet another outlet for co-quarterbacks Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Gallinari would certainly be an intriguing fit for the Heat. While Miami is still competing in the Eastern Conference Finals, it is intriguing to think about how Gallinari could fit in with this current roster.

Jimmy Butler is the face of the franchise with big man Bam Adebayo beginning to become a star as well. They are surrounded with elite shooting talent in Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, and Jae Crowder. Andre Iguodala provides excellent veteran leadership as well.

Sliding Gallinari in at power forward in the front-court alongside Adebayo would be an ideal fit. They don’t play in the same areas on the court and Gallinari would fit right in with the spot-up shooting threats that the Heat love to have.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Thunder, Gallinari ended up averaging 18.7 points per game to go along with 5.2 rebounds. He shot 43.8 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 40.5 percent of his three-point attempts.

At 32 years old, Gallinari will be looking for a team that he can compete for a championship with. The Heat can absolutely offer that, as can be seen from their deep postseason run this year.

Expect to see quite a few teams come calling when free agency opens. Danilo Gallinari will have his pick of where to play the next chapter of his career and the Heat do make perfect sense.
