Indiana Pacers
Being a competitive team in the Eastern Conference is the primary objective for the Pacers. After the Paul George trade that landing Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis in Indiana, the team has managed to make the playoffs each year. However, there could be real change to the roster this offseason.
It could be relatively complicated to navigate the situation with Oladipo. He’s entering the final year of his current contract and it remains unclear if both sides will reach an agreement — meaning it’s possible pursuing a potential trade for the two-time All-Star could make sense.
There is too much talent on the Pacers’ roster to undergo a long-term rebuild and pull it off successfully. Additionally, the team will likely need to move one of its big men since there is overlap. That means Indiana could have options to shake up their roster this offseason.
It’s unclear which big man the Pacers would choose to trade if they moved either of them. The style the new head coach wants to play with could impact that choice. Regardless, either Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner could help pull off a three-team deal in this situation.
